After my schooling in Germany, I worked in Hamburg as an assistant to a commercial photographer. It was here, managing the portrait studio side of the business, that I learnt the art of photography.
A trip to South Africa in 1998 changed much of my life, including my career path. I studied Interior Design in both Durban and Cape Town before building my home and settling in the beauty of Plettenberg Bay. I spent some years working with well-established architects in the area before starting my own small practice in 2006.
Alongside my design work, I continue to work as a freelance photographer, shooting portraits, weddings, events and other commissions.
“People interest me and I take time to study them on a shoot to make sure I capture their true expressions rather than ‘put on’ camera smiles!”
